What is an appointment like?

Before your visit, I will order a comprehensive lab panel to better understand your hormone, metabolic, and overall health status.
Once your results are ready, we schedule a 60 - 90 minute consultation to review everything together.
During this visit, we talk through your symptoms, areas of concern, medical history, lifestyle, and goals. I also review your labs with you so you understand what is going on in your body and why you may be feeling the way you do.
From there, we determine the most appropriate approach and outline a personalized path forward for you. This may include bioidentical hormone therapy, thyroid support, medical weight loss, supplementation, and lifestyle recommendations.
Follow up visits are scheduled based on your needs and response to treatment. These can be done in person or via telehealth.

How are labs billed?

Accepted Answer

Labs are billed separately from your consultation and can be run through insurance or self-pay.

Insurance coverage varies depending on your plan, and you are responsible for any out-of-pocket costs if you choose to use insurance.
For cash pay, we offer discounted pricing through our lab partners, with your typical initial panel around $190

Question 4

How do I prepare for my lab draw?

Lab Draw Instructions
Fasting: Labs should be drawn after an 8-hour fast, preferably first thing in the morning.
Hydration: Drink 16-32 oz of water before your lab draw.
Food & Beverages: Do not consume any food or non-water beverages, including coffee or tea.
Biotin: Stop all biotin supplementation at least 3 days before your lab draw. This includes biotin found in sports drinks, supplements, B-complex vitamins, and pre-workouts. Biotin can interfere with some lab tests, particularly those related to thyroid and hormone levels. 
Hormone/Thyroid Medication: If you are on hormone or thyroid replacement, hold your medication until after your blood draw.
Testosterone: Schedule your lab draw the day before or of your next injection
Menstrual Cycle: If you are still having menstrual cycles, please note the day of your cycle when you have your blood drawn.

Following these guidelines ensures accurate lab results and helps us create the best plan for your care.

Are you a primary care provider (PCP)?

At ANU Wellness, we focus on proactive health optimization, hormone replacement therapy, and lifestyle guidance rather than serving as a primary care provider. Our services are designed to complement, not replace, primary care by addressing specific areas like hormone balance, thyroid health, and wellness strategies that often go beyond traditional primary care. 
We encourage patients to maintain a primary care provider for general health needs, acute care, and necessary preventive screenings.

Do you take health insurance?

No. 
ANU Wellness is a cash-based concierge practice and does not bill insurance.
This allows us to focus on personalized, preventative care without the limitations of insurance driven protocols or time restrictions.

We do accept HSA and FSA cards for eligible services.

Do you see children?

At this time, we see patients 18 and up.
